The Registered Dietitian provides nutrition support services in clinical, community and foodservice areas of the organization. Key functions involve providing required oversight and consultations to the food service operations at the NeuroCare Center.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Performs required oversight services to fulfill the RD consultant requirement specified by the Michigan Department of Community Health for nursing home food service operations.
· Act as a consultant to the Hospitality Services Manager.
· Maintain a working liaison with the medical and nursing staff for comprehensive client care.
· Conducts nutritional assessments, care plans, discharge planning, and other related services for NCC and residential clients as needed.
· Participates in the development and revision of dietetic policies and procedures.
· Completes all documentation in accordance with state and federal laws and Special Tree policies.
· Follows safe work practices.
· Respects and appropriately considers age, gender, cultural background and related reactors when providing services to clients.
Requirement
· BA degree in dietetics from an accredited college or university.
· Accreditation as a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
· Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
· Minimum two years of experience in clinical nutrition in an acute, sub-acute, or long term care setting.
· Experience in working with an interdisciplinary health care team.
· Experience in nutrition assessments and nutrition care planning for enterally-fed clients.
· Knowledge and experience with brain injury or spinal cord injury clients preferred.
