Legislative Day – Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Please join us at MiAND’s Legislative Day and meet your state Senator and Representative in person at their offices in Lansing! There are several newly elected Representatives and they are eager to meet their constituents. This event is free to MiAND RDN/NDTR members and MiAND student/intern members. Registration for non-member RDNs/NDTRs is $68, and $10 for non-member students/interns. Continental breakfast and lunch are included.
Dietitian Licensure
Our bill to license medical nutrition therapy in Michigan was signed into law last year (now Public Act 39 of 2024). The Michigan Board of Dietetics and Nutrition is in the process of being appointed. Once rules are promulgated, Dietitian Licensure for Michigan will officially start.
Medicaid Reimbursement for MNT
Rep. Laurie Pohutsky is sponsoring a bill that will allow Medicaid reimbursement for providing MNT. Encourage your lawmakers to support this important legislation.
Visit our licensure page for more information and ways you can help.
Are you nervous about speaking to your legislators?
A free training webinar will take place on March 11th to provide talking points to help you prepare for Legislative Day. MiAND Legislative Day Training awards 1 CPEU per the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s CPEU Prior Approval Program.
