Mark Thiesmeyer Hook, MPH, MS, RD, ACE-CPT

After 25+ years running companies, you learn that you can only accomplish so much on your own. Big dreams require a lot of talented people working as a team for a common vision. I dream about changing the overall health of Michigan. My strengths as a leader are building cohesive teams, communication, and public relations.

Sheryl Lozicki, MBA, RDN

Sheryl is the System Manager of Clinical Nutrition and Wellness for Trinity Hospitality Services, a national healthcare system. She has a diverse work background and is focused on growing and developing individuals and teams to maximize their potential, program development, and overall performance. She has previously served as the Public Relations and Marketing Director for MiAND and the President of Dietitians of West Michigan.

Jessica Corwin, MPH, RDN, CHWC

I am honored to serve as your newest Secretary-Treasurer! I am an experienced leader, previously serving as President of the Dietitians of West Michigan, with a heart for building up other RDNs. Prior to this position, I was a student liaison to our State Board, then Assistant to the At Large Director of Membership, PR Committee Officer, before finally serving as the Director of Marketing and PR. My performance record and relationships built within each role, is evidence I am a dependable, decisive and detail-oriented leader who is more than capable of fulfilling the position of secretary well.

Libby MacQuillan, PhD, RDN, CHSE

Libby is a tenured professor and program director of the undergraduate dietetics program at Grand Valley State University, where she enjoys playing a part in shaping the future of our profession. She earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State and master’s and doctoral degrees from Western Michigan University. She lives in Kalamazoo with her husband, three boys, and two Irish wolfhounds.

Julie Orth, MS, RDN, CSP

I’m dedicated to improving our profession by connecting with dietitians from all areas of practice, listening, and encouraging professionals and students to achieve their professional goals, as well as encouraging involvement in the Academy at all levels including local and state as they are able to serve.


Membership Director*
Lorraine Bonkowski, RDN

Lorraine is currently an outpatient dietitian for Michigan Medicine’s Hepatology and Liver Transplant clinics in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She holds a BS in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University, received her dietetics verification statement from Madonna University, and completed her dietetic internship at Henry Ford Hospital. She was an active volunteer for MiAND as a student and has continued to be a member ever since. She is looking forward to her new role as membership director.

Sara Tutor, MS, RDN

Sara is the Director of Nutrition Services at Corewell Health in Dearborn, Michigan. She holds a BS in Dietetics and an MS in Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University. Sara has over 10 years of food and nutrition services leadership experience and has served on MiAND as a member of the Nominating Committee and a volunteer for the Membership Committee.


PR/Marketing Co-Coordinator
Shelby Miller, RDN

Shelby currently works for Trinity Heath, building menus and coding allergens for safe patient feeding. Previously, her focus was clinical, working in neuroscience, psychiatric medicine and oncology, also covering the outpatient ALS and ketogenic clinics. She received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and finished her internship at Dominican University in River Forest, IL. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors and exploring Michigan.

Ellen Smartt, RDN

Ellen completed her MS in Clinical Dietetics and BS in Clinical Exercise from Grand Valley State University. She has 5 years of experience in nutrition counseling and education for the general and athletic populations. She is passionate in the areas of nutrition counseling, growing local sustainable food systems, and community nutrition. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering with Kids Food Basket in Grand Rapids, growing vegetables, and visiting local farmers’ markets. 


Julie Poole, MS, RD

Julie Poole, MS, RD

Julie works as a nutrition educator in the Traverse City Area Public Schools. She has previous experience as a clinical dietitian at the University of Michigan Medical Center and as a dietitian/health educator at a school-based health center in Ann Arbor.  Julie previously served as the MiAND professional development chair for 5 years and is currently enjoying her role as the newsletter co-director.  Additionally, she serves as the secretary and newsletter editor for the Northern Michigan Dietetic Association.  Julie obtained her Bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Michigan State University and completed the combined internship and Master’s degree program in clinical nutrition at Rush University Medical Center.

Heather Dover, MS, RDN

Heather is the Coordinator for Undergraduate Research in the Provost’s Office at Michigan State University (MSU). She holds a Master of Science in Food Safety from MSU. Prior to her work in undergraduate research, Heather served as a research assistant/laboratory manager in several departments across the MSU campus. She has also served as a dietitian for community mental health services in Michigan and Texas. Heather has been a member of the Michigan Academy’s annual conference planning committee for over 5 years, is past president of MiAND, and is a past president of the Lansing Dietetic Association.


IDEA Director*
Leatta Byrd, MA, RDN

Leatta Byrd, MA, RDN, is a Nutrition Educator, Emeritus, Michigan State University. Leatta graduated from Western Michigan University where she received both her undergraduate and master’s degrees. Leatta is experienced in clinical, public health, and community nutrition with in-depth knowledge of modern principles, and practices in dietetics education. Leatta is the grant developer of MiAND, Project SOAR community outreach Program. Project SOAR program goals are to create an awareness of the field of nutrition and dietetics among STEM students to know that nutrition and dietetics is a career option in allied health also to recruit both middle and high school students of color and other disenfranchised groups into the profession.

Tina Guajardo, MA, RD

Tina is a Health Educator for Bronson Community Health Advancement. She is a past PPC for MiAND and current secretary for the IDEA committee. She also serves on the Chronic Disease Workgroup for Albion with the Albion Healthcare Alliance. She received her undergraduate and Master’s degrees and completed her internship at Western Michigan University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Sarah Younker, MBA, RDN, ACE-CPT

Sarah works at the Berrien County Health Department WIC office. She is passionate about public health nutrition and has worked with the National WIC Association as a public policy fellow to advance nutrition policy in the maternal and infant health space. She currently volunteers with NWA on multiple committees and loves educating people on the importance of nutrition. Before WIC, Sarah worked at Andrews University as a nutrition professor, and in long-term care as a clinical dietitian.  She received her Masters in Business Administration from Andrews University.  She loves raising chickens in her free time.


State Policy Co-Representative
Randalynn Hajek, MPH, RDN

Randalynn is a registered dietitian and faculty at GVSU for the Clinical Dietetics and Applied Food and Nutrition programs. Previously, she worked as a clinical dietitian working in a variety of settings, but primarily in oncology from 2010-2020. Randalynn has a passion for public health and enjoys yoga and snuggling her two rescue pups.

Sara is a consultant in the Office of Nutrition Services at the Michigan Department of Education working with School Breakfast Expansion, Michigan School meals, and food insecurity in select school districts. She is a past PPC, Professional Development Director, Poster Chair, and Past President of MiAND. Sara enjoys camping, being outdoors, and spending time with her three girls. She has a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from MSU and obtained her master’s in public health from U of M – Flint.

Sarah Clark, MS, RDN, CDE

Sarah is currently the System Manager of Clinical Nutrition for Bronson Healthcare Group. She is an alumnus of Central Michigan University’s undergraduate and internship/graduate programs in nutrition and dietetics. She has been a registered dietitian for 22 years, worked in a wide variety of roles in dietetics, and has enjoyed every one of them. She has also been involved with MiAND for many years including SWMDDA Past-President, MiAND Awards Chair, MiAND Past-President, and now Nutrition Services Payment Specialist. Over the years she’s grown to appreciate the importance of understanding MNT billing and coding. That appreciation has grown to a passion! She believes that when we maximize our opportunities, we can grow as a profession.

Bethany Thayer, MS, RDN

Bethany is the director of the Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention at Henry Ford Health. Her undergraduate degree is in dietetics from Michigan State University and her master’s is in exercise science from Oakland University. Bethany has held a number of leadership positions at the regional, state, and national levels, including past president of MiAND and national spokesperson for AND. She is passionate about ensuring licensure for RDNs in the state of Michigan, chairing the Licensure Task Force for several years, and now serving as the Consumer Protection co-chair for MiAND.

Emily Camiener, MPH, RDN, CDCES

Emily is the president of EC Nutrition LLC and dietdetroit.com where she provides private practice nutrition counseling. She has extensive training in specialized diets for GI, cardiovascular health, hormonal health, and disordered eating. She was a full-time nutrition instructor at Schoolcraft College and a health management consultant for Schering Plough Pharmaceuticals. She currently practices integrative and functional nutrition in Bloomfield Hills, and via telehealth. Emily completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Michigan and her graduate degree at Loma Linda University, focusing on the vegetarian diet. She is a strong supporter of licensure for dietitians and is co-chair of the licensure task force in Michigan.

Erika Ford, RDN

Erika is currently an outpatient dietitian at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She earned her undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University and completed her dietetic internship at West Virginia University Hospitals. Erika has previously served in numerous roles on the board of directors in West Virginia and has held various leadership positions in SWMDDA, including president and nominating chair. In her free time, she enjoys reading, outdoor adventures, and gardening with her husband, 2 children and therapy dog in training.

Diane Delhey, MS, RDN

Diane has worked at Bronson Methodist Hospital for the past 27 years as a cardiovascular/critical care dietitian and helped establish the outpatient HF Clinic.  She received her BS from MSU and went on to do her dietetic internship and MS at MGH in Boston Massachusetts.  Diane has been active in both the district and state levels of MiAND for the past 25 years and also has served as a trustee and President of MNDI.

Laura is the Director of the Undergraduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at Madonna University. She is an active member of the profession, including MiAND Past President in 2020.

Cassie Whiddon, MS, RDN

Cassie is the Wellness Manager for Eurest at DTE Energy and a Part-Time Lecturer for the Dietetics program at Eastern Michigan University, her alma mater for her BS and MS degrees. Past areas of practice include acute care clinical, foodservice, clinical management, and corporate wellness. Cassie served as the Communications Chair for the Clinical Nutrition Management DPG and as the Academy Delegate for Michigan. She loves spending time with her son, fiancé, and 3 pups, as well as gardening, food preservation, cooking, and relaxing with a good sci-fi or fantasy book.

Susanne Consiglio, RDN

Susanne has managed a successful private practice for 33 years and is in her 16th year as the Executive Director for the Michigan Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Megan Armstrong, RD

Megan has been a clinical dietitian for 7 years at Corewell Health Weight Control Centers specializing in weight management/bariatric surgery. She has a bachelor of science in Business Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy where she was a student-athlete for 4 years. Megan worked in sales, events, and marketing before pursuing a career in dietetics. She earned her post-bachelor’s certificate in dietetics at Wayne State University and is currently pursuing an MA in Nutrition and Food Science.

Tina Miller, MS, RDN, FAND

Tina is an Assistant Professor and Graduate Dietetic Coordinated Program Director at Madonna University. Tina has over 30 years of experience teaching food and nutrition concepts to students, patients, and consumers. Her passion is mentoring dietitians and dietetic students to grow in the dietetics profession. Tina has served in many leadership roles with the MiAND including Past-President.


Website Manager
Mary Width, MS, RD

Mary is an Associate Professor-Teaching and the director of the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at Wayne State University, and co-course director of Nutrition Education at the WSU School of Medicine. She has managed the website for MiAND for over 13 years and has held many leadership positions in SEMDA including president, membership chair, and website manager. She is the co-author of two books, The Essential Pocket Guide for Clinical Nutrition and The Essential Guide to the Nutrition Care Process.

Lindsey Fick, RD

Lindsey is a psychiatric clinical dietitian at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She has held leadership positions with the Dietitians of West Michigan as National Nutrition Month and PR coordinator and now President-Elect. Lindsey enjoys living on the west side of Michigan and hiking the many trails with her husband, 1-year-old and dog, Mowgli. 


Student Board Members
Tabor Gleason

Tabor is in her second year of the Master of Science in Clinical Dietetics program at Grand Valley State University. She has a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Science from GVSU and a strong interest in sports dietetics and cardiac rehab. Currently, she is working on a thesis involving RED-S and female athletes at GVSU. As a former collegiate athlete, this topic is near and dear to her heart.


Emily Marron

Emily earned her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Madonna University in 2016. She then went on to become credentialed as a DTR and worked in the Milk Room at Michigan Medicine for 3 years. She is currently finishing her master’s degree in Nutrition and Wellness at Madonna University and will begin Madonna’s dietetic internship in the fall of 2024.
